UKIP launch on-line petition to stop development in Green Gaps and Green Belt in Cheshire East.

UKIP have  launched on-line petition to stop development in Green Gaps and Green Belt in Cheshire East.

Cheshire East is under siege from the developers because the Local Plan, that was voted through for by both the Labour and Conservative Councillors, has been ‘FAILED’. Since 2013 the controlling Conservative Group has been stating that a 5 year supply of housing is in place but appeal after appeal has been lost because it is not in place. Also residents should be aware that Labour plan to DOUBLE house building, so twice as many green fields will be concreted over if Labour get in. The National Planning Framework was introduced by the Conservative and LibDem Government and it has allowed developers to almost build where they want.

It does not have to be like this. Residents are rightly asking what local Council Candidates will do in real practical terms to protect Cheshire East residents from this planning madness.UKIP are the only party that has come forward with a credible way to sort out, once and for all, the planning fiasco that the Conservative and Labour Councillors and the Coalition Government have inflicted on the good people of Cheshire East.

If UKIP take over the Cheshire East Council on May 7th they will stop any further development in the Green Gaps and the Green Belt.

Priority will be given to development on brown field sites. Low grade agricultural land should only be used if it necessary to establish a 5 year housing supply that is defensible on appeal.

UKIP wil put  planning decisions back into the hands of local people and stop developers having the whip hand.

I urge local residents to sign our petition and vote UKIP on May 7th so that Cheshire East can have a fresh start and our precious Green Gaps and Green Belt can be saved.

Here is our petition and  our 11 point plan to sort out the planning calamity.

UKIP will stop our precious green fields from being concreted over

A planning fiasco has been inflicted on local residents by the Conservative and Labour Councillors at local level, because they both voted for the failed Local Plan and by the Conservative and Lib Dem MPs at national level, because they voted for the Developers Charter, which is the National Planning Framework.

UKIP Councillors are committed to a ten point action plan to ensure that planning is brought back under the control of local people:-

1) No more development in the Green Gaps/Belt in Cheshire East.

2)The early establishment of a 5 year housing supply that won't get overturned on appeal or on judicial review.

3)The speedy adoption of the Local Plan.

4)The repeal of the National Planning Framework, which the Conservatives introduced as a Developers Charter.

5) Major planning applications to be decided by referendum and direct democracy, if sufficient residents sign to request a referendum

6) Priority to be given to development on brown field sites. Low grade agricultural land should only be used if necessary for the 5 year supply.

7)UKIP is the only party who will shut the open door to EU migrants. Our beautiful open countryside is being concreted over, partly because 36% of all housing demand is created by migrants. We will need to build 200 new homes a day over the next 25 yrs to house these migrants

8)UKIP will encourage and make it easier for brown field development by issuing low interest bonds to enable decontamination.

9)Houses built on brown field sites will be exempt from Stamp Duty on first sale and the VAT relaxed.

10)We would promote and encourage the refurbishment of empty properties.

11)UKIP would  support and encourage the adoption of Neighbourhood Plans so  that  local people will have a say in how their community will look in the future.

Only UKIP have a clear, sensible, deliverable way forward to end the planning catastrophe that currently exists in Cheshire East.

Please sign out on-line petition to stop any more development in the green gaps or the green belt.
