New directory keeps residents informed about local care services

The most up-to-date information about care services in your local area is now available with the publication of an updated Cheshire East care services directory.

The FREE handbook, which is published by Care Choices in association with Cheshire East Council, is packed with useful articles that explain all available care options.

It includes comprehensive listings of care providers for residential care or care in your own home. There is also guidance on accessing and paying for care and what financial assistance is available from the government.

It has never been more important to have impartial information to guide you through choosing and paying for care and support. The directory helps readers to understand their options, highlights where to go for advice and gives information on how the paying for care system works.

Councillor Janet Clowes, Cheshire East Council cabinet member for adult care and integration, said: “This directory is an invaluable and practical source of information that will help keep local people informed about local services. It will help them make informed choices about getting the right support in the right place and at the right time for themselves or a much-loved family member.

“The handbook provides information on all aspects of arranging care and support in Cheshire East. It includes information about the different care and support options available and what to look for when choosing a care provider – as well as how to stay independent for as long as possible.

“Finding the right care can appear daunting. But this excellent directory can help people every step of the way to decide what type of care and support is best for them.

“It offers guidance on important issues such as paying for care and what financial assistance may be available from the council. There are comprehensive listings of all registered care services throughout Cheshire East, plus checklists to help you ask the right questions when visiting services.”

The guide supplements the new Live Well Cheshire East online resource directory, which is being launched later this month. Live Well Cheshire East includes information and advice for adults’ services, public health, communities and children’s services, in addition to a searchable directory of services and community support that is available for residents of Cheshire East.
