Police appeal to public in help to find missing Alsager woman

Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of an Alsager woman who has not been seen since yesterday.

Janet Marper, 53, lives in Alsager. She was reported missing by her concerned family on the afternoon of Monday 9 September 2013 when she was last seen by her family at 12.20pm. Police and her family are concerned for her welfare and safety due to a phone call from her late last night which ended suddenly.

Janet is white, around 5′ tall, and very thin in build. She has a thin face with distinctive cheek bones and prominent front teeth. Her hair is brown and shoulder length, with grey roots showing. She may be wearing a light blue fleecy top, black trousers, and "Kickers" style shoes which are dark purple but look black.

Police are exploring the possibility she maybe in the Alsager, Church Lawton or Kidsgrove area, but are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen Janet recently, or can provide information on where she may be.

Anyone walking in Lawton woods who sees a woman fitting this description should contact police.

Police are also appealing to Janet herself to make contact with them or her family to provide the re-assurance that she is safe and well.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Congleton Police on the non emergency number, 101, quoting incident number 345 of 06/09/2013.
