Text Box: PRESS RELEASEThe Mayor of Nantwich, Councillor David hosted the Mayor’s Big Quiz on Friday to raise money for selected local charities. At just £10 a head for tables of up to 6 over 150 people including local businesses, community groups and keen quizzers came together to form teams and share a very competitive evening supplemented by a fish and chip supper half way through..
Compere Chris Radford once again and in jovial style led the teams through music, general knowledge, sports and picture rounds which culminated in the Desperate Dabbers, just scooping the winning spot, after a very close tie-breaker with The Thin Quizzes
Quizzers also enjoyed a prize raffle with some fabulous prizes donated from Morrisons, Crewe Golf Club, Residence Bar & Restaurant, Arty Sally and Hoar Cross Hall near Burton on Trent to name but a few.
Charities that will benefit from the evening include Hope House, Nantwich First Responders and Nantwich Fire Cadets.
The Mayor of Nantwich, Councillor David Marren commented “the quiz was a very enjoyable evening in aid of very good causes but it was only successful because of the people involved. I’d like to thank the Town Council staff and Chris Radford especially but also those businesses and individuals who donated to the raffle and those that bought the tickets. To those that didn’t win, like me, take comfort in Pierre de Coubertin words “the important thing is not to win but to take part
