Cheshire East Triumphs at Tourism Awards

Cheshire East Council is congratulating five local businesses that have triumphed at the Visit Chester and Cheshire Awards.

The prestigious regional awards ‘recognise and reward achievements within tourism and the visitor economy’ and draw nominations from leading attractions across Cheshire and Warrington.

Tatton Park has triumphed again, winning ‘Large Visitor Attraction of the Year’ for the second year running, at the ceremony held at Chester Racecourse on Friday June 11.

Tatton Park will now go on to represent Cheshire at the Northwest Regional Awards. Winners of these awards will then progress to the national Enjoy England Awards for Excellence.

Tatton wasn’t the only local winner. Harrop Fold Farm in Macclesfield won Bed and Breakfast of the Year; Small Hotel of the Year went to The Alexandra Court Hotel in Congleton; Cholmondeley Pageant of Power scooped Best Tourism Event; and Residence Restaurant and Bar in Nantwich won Food and Drink Venue of the Year.

Councillor Jamie Macrae, Cabinet member with responsibility for prosperity said: “My congratulations go to all the winners who work so hard to make Cheshire East a great place to visit.

“A vibrant tourism industry benefits the wider economy. More people are spending their leisure time in the UK, award-winning businesses will help persuade more tourists to visit Cheshire East.”
