Walking to the Crewe retails park I noticed that there was a planning permission notice in The Vine in Earl St, They are seeking to change it into a multiple occupancy dwelling which to me is gobdy gook for Flats. It seems the pub has been for sale for 18 months with no takers so now a local developer want to make it into flats. Next to the notice is a letter from the developer explaining what he is going to do. The pub looks as if it should actually be in Nantwich as it has the dabbers look about it. I have no doubt they will get their permission and another old building will be lost before long there will be no pubs left as people by cheap beer from the supermarkets.
